Customer Service/Counter Rep

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted December 19, 2018.

Our Amazing Client in the Construction industry in Toronto is actively looking for a Counter/ Customer Service Representative. $40-50K (Negotiable)

The role will perform a variety of duties involved to address customer orders and requests including quotations, order entry and processing, credit adjustments and supporting their assigned sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides order entry support to existing customers by taking orders over the telephone, face to face, fax or electronic media.
  • Handle Customer requests for information, request for quote, inventory stock status, order changes adjustments, cancellations and delivery of scheduled shipments.
  • Ensures attention to detail and accuracy in order entry for customers.
  • Liaises with Purchasing for Special Orders, timing, costing and lead times
  • Provides support to assigned outside sales representative.
  • Maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Provides pricing to customers and salesmen within established guidelines.
  • Ensures price system is maintained and quotes are updated and used within the business system.
  • Ensures all returns are resolved and credited promptly (within the month).Ensures price/order disputes are passed to the appropriate party to ensure they are resolved.Ensures open orders are cleared.
  • Helping other team members when working with customersLiaises with Distribution to ensure delivery requirements are attained and special requirements addressed
  • Cooperates with Marketing, Salesmen and Distributors to introduce new products.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications, attending product knowledge meetings and educational workshops, as approvedProvides SDS when requested.
  • Other duties as required by the business.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. High School Diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  2. Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  3. Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
  4. Excellent listening skills.Strong written communication skills. Strong reading skills
  5. Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  6. Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  7. Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits.
  8. Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  9. High level of integrity and work ethic.

Skills Required

  • Education level: High school
  • Work experience (years): 3-5 years

Package

Salary: 40000.00-50000.00$ per year
