Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

As Director, Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL), Operations you will be responsible for leading the teams supporting daily operations for securities lending and borrowing globally. As Director, you will lead the global strategy for operations in support of, but not limited to, securities lending and borrowing as well as equity collateral management . You will manage an experienced senior team supporting multiple global LOBs performing functions under multiple jurisdictions and markets. In addition, as the incumbent, you will be responsible for leading and executing the future operational framework and modernization of our internal processes as we continue to grow in product offerings, geographies, client base with a focus on automation and collaboration. You must possess extensive product knowledge and experience in daily operations, people leadership along with a proven track record of success in strategic changes and change initiatives. The incumbent will also conduct a thorough analysis of budget and unit costing and make necessary adjustments based upon changing business plans/priorities.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Lead with Effectiveness and Authenticity – Take the lead in a continuously improving and evolving environment. Strong focus on process efficiency and team development. Collaborating with internal partners to provide superior service to our clients and the business partners we support.
  • People Leadership – Provide operational/process management expertise to ensure effective balances between service excellence, cost containment and risk avoidance. Develop strategic direction for team and implement related goals and objectives. Maintain a strong communication network with employees, providing coaching and regular updates and direction on key objectives, priorities, business initiatives and performance standards
  • Compliance and Controls – Manage risk within the department by ensuring compliance to policies, procedures and standards. Always looking to improve controls and manage change effectively and efficiently
  • Business Relationships – Manage effective partnerships and business relationships to facilitate communications and effective cooperation. Working collectively with Front Office and IT partners to innovate and grow the business.
  • Industry Knowledge & Education – Previous experience in Capital Operations, with an expert understanding of Repo settlements, collateral management, and reconciliation. Experience with Fedwire, BDC, DTC, FICC, Impact, Finpro, Apex, Broadridge/ADP,Arrow, CDS, Euroclear, Nexen, AccessEdge, GlobalOne
  • Technical Skillset – Utilize data to drive change and effectively manage resources and risk. Data driven decision making to formulate strategic decision making as well as change and resources management.
