Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Product Manager, Operational Efficiency you will join CIBC’s Investor’s Services Inc. and report directly to the Director, Product Management. The Senior Product Manager will work with stakeholders to identify platform and other opportunities to change the way our clients interact with us and to make the operational processes that flow throughout the client lifecycle more efficient. In this role you are also responsible for other Product initiatives as assigned and will act as the primary product lead as those initiatives are defined, scoped, developed and implemented. You will also play a key role in the product lifecycle, including ongoing enhancement and product retirement as necessary. In this role you will have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you will spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Competitive analysis – In conjunction with the operations and contact center teams, you’ll understand the strategic evolution of both the online platform and our internal platforms, and what technologies and partners will be needed to make our offerings even better. You’ll conduct periodic reviews of direct competitors and of digital leaders not limited to our field to understand the evolution of their online platforms, and you’ll know who provides a particularly noteworthy client and employee experience and how they do it.

  • Strategic thinking and operational awareness –You’ll succeed by having the ability to reflect on new information as you learn it, to connect it to things you already know and to make wise and informed choices and recommendations. You’re adept at seeing connections between things that others might miss and you know how to package that and communicate it to your peers and to executive management. You’ll be knowledgeable about process mapping and have a keen eye for identifying pain points experienced by our clients and by our team. As a result, you’ll be able to assist in the development of product strategies to solve those challenges and you’ll build out the product roadmaps in support of same.

  • Relationship management – You’ll work with and develop relationships with our Marketing and Strategy teams, as well as CIBC Retail Banking partners and other teams. You’ll have regular in business interaction with contact centre managers, product peers, project delivery, channel support, customer satisfaction, sales, and the business leadership team. You’ll partner with other areas across CIBC such as:, Technology and Operations Legal, Corporate Services, and Compliance.

  • Business effectiveness – You’ll determine, recommend and implement opportunities for cost savings for the business while enhancing the client experience.

  • You are an experienced financial professional. You know the retail online brokerage intimately. You will bring expertise in the operational trade life cycle, along with QA and software development life cycle knowledge. You most likely have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and DFC (Derivatives Fundamental Course), among others.
