They are recruiting for a Manager, Financial Reporting who will be responsible for the day to day accounting and reporting activities of all their operating facilities.

This role reports to the VP Finance.

The Manager, Financial Reporting?s responsibilities will fall into the following tiers: Monthly Internal Reporting; Accounting; Year-End and Quarter End.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): ?

Reviewing the monthly financial statements and variance reports for all operating facilities to ensure accuracy and completeness.

?

Working with property accountants to ensure that reporting deadlines are met on a monthly basis.

?

Acting as liaison between property accountants and the field to ensure the financial statements are a true representation of operating activities.

?

Preparing the monthly financial package to be presented to senior management which includes; capital spending summaries, property tax summaries and appeal updates, long term debt schedules.

?

Preparing complete internal package for the year-end audit.

?

Preparing tax packages for corporate and partnership returns.

?

Preparing draft IFRS consolidated statements with accompanying notes as template for the auditors as well as individual LP statements.

?

Working with the external auditors to ensure that reporting deadline is met.

?

Maintaining responsibility for any year-end adjustments and entries required to close off ledgers.

?

Overseeing all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.

?

Maintaining internal controls and safeguards for invoice approvals and cheque issuance ?

Working closely with the Executive Leaders in the field to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures.

?

Preparing daily cash flow summaries in a timely fashion.

?

Preparing quarterly consolidated financial statements for senior management.

?

Quarterly reporting requirements for various government programs.

?

Maintaining and updating the accounting manual and be involved in staff training.

In order to be considered for the Manager, Financial Reporting role, you must: ?

Be a CPA, CA (preference working for a mid cap public organization) ?

Have solid IFRS experience (IFRS Statements, notes, updates on new standards, revaluation of property equipment, etc) ?

Have solid experience with financial statements, external reporting, valuation models, fixed assets, limited partnership and NCI calculations.

?

Have excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup) ?

Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable communicating with the C-Suite.

?

Be a self-starter and team player.
