In this role, you will:
•    Have the unique opportunity to support the activities of the Capital Management and Treasury functions, as well as provide occasional support to and work closely with the Corporate Development, Investor Relations and Reinsurance functions
•    Be exposed to activities related to becoming a public company, as the company intends to demutualize and complete its Initial Public Offering (“IPO”)
•    Work closely with corporate finance, investments, actuarial and risk

Your Responsibilities
•    Monthly capital management activities including monitoring and analyzing regular financial reports, investment data and other information sources in order to assess the capital impact and provide valuable insights
•    Support the quarterly and annual business plan and short-term forecasting processes by preparing the balance sheet, cash flow and capital forecasts
•    Lead the development of an enhanced return on capital model to better understand the relative profitability of capital allocated to individual lines of business and products
•    Support the adoption of IFRS 17 for the Capital Management team, including redevelopment of certain models
•    Ongoing monitoring and management of capital through internal capital movements and other capital levers
•    Support in capital and treasury activities as a public company, including raising capital, dividends, share buybacks, and M&A funding
•    Support in the annual credit rating process, including drafting management presentations and performing credit rating modeling
•    Assist in developing a suite of analysis, forecasting and reporting on cash and cash flow for Senior Management, and assist in strengthening existing treasury management capabilities

Your Skills and Experience
•    University degree, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
•    CPA designation (completed or in progress) strongly preferred
•    3-5 years of finance experience including capital management, financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and/or complex financial reporting issues (including public accounting experience)
•    Ability to analyze and understand the implications of business activities on the financial statements
•    Knowledge and experience with IFRS is an asset
•    Interest and/or prior experience in financial services industries in general, and insurance specifically, would be an asset
•    Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with excellent attention to detail and proficient analytical skills
•    Ability to produce clear reports and presentations, including strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including C-level executives
