Analyst – Broking and Financial Management

What the day will look like Analysis and negotiation of annual renewals Analysis and cost projections following carrier marketings Experience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends and client relevant KPIs Help prepare client ready material Help draft client communication material following renewals, marketings, new plan implementations, redesigns or for union meeting purposes Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleagues Coordinate projects with other team members, other business units and carriers Increase efficiency by contributing to the improvement of standardized processes Build strong working relationships with colleagues, other business units and client teams Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends and emerging technology, to support a detailed understanding of how this relates to growing value to clients Participate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improved client value and business results How this opportunity is different As an Analyst in our Broking and Financial Management team, you will be supporting client teams in the servicing of clients with respect to the financial management of their benefit programs.

Working with a team of analysts and senior team leaders you will be involved with a variety of client deliverables including but not limited to annual renewals, carrier marketings, experience reporting and analysis, budget preparation, review of financial statements, union negotiations, pricing and plan redesigns.

Skills and experience that will lead to success Up to (3) years of direct group benefits experience in consulting or underwriting environment is required; A valid group insurance license is an asset.

Must have and maintain a valid group insurance license within this position; Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for our clients; Proven organization skills and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services; Strong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written; Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision; Meticulous attention to detail, refined interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task; Proven track record to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure; Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.

University or College graduate in Financial Services, Mathematics, Actuarial science, or related discipline, or equivalent years of industry experience Completed Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
