Summary:

The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the account receivable/payable, payroll and accounting cycle.

This position will provide guidance and demonstrate leadership within the finance function and work with other departments to ensure that all accounts receivables, billing, financial and management reporting is accurate, relevant and reliable. The individual in this role will provide and highlight relevant data and trends to help management make decisions that positively impact the business and the annual financial plan.

As an Accounting Manager, you will:

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and payment collection of receivable accounts Review billings for the month and reconcile back to billing trackers Provide day-to-day support for A/R services as needed (e.g. Billings, preparation of daily bank deposits, inputting cash receipts, etc.) Provide proactive customer issue resolution Review, code and provide A/P invoices for upload on a timely basis Handle supplier and internal queries, as well as, oversee cheque runs Strong ability to leverage both Excel and QuickBooks to generate reports in order to help management with financial analysis and identify key performance indicators on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis Reporting gross margin results inclusive of revenue, cost of goods sold, write- offs, cross-sell results Prepare weekly reports: Permanent Placement, KPI, divisional dashboards and scorecards Prepare monthly reports: DSO and hiring ratios Work with Senior Payroll Specialist to ensure payments and commissions are accurately reflected in the financial statements Annual budget preparation, which includes using existing financial models as well as creating and updating where necessary Prepare monthly forecasts Share responsibility with outsourced accounting firm regarding preparation and ongoing analysis and reporting for the CEO, which includes: account/budget management and creating financial reports for each division Strict monitoring of cash flow on a daily bases Primary contact for external auditors Online balanced monitoring for credit cards, bank accounts Confirming payment processed to Telpay and non-Telpay vendors (CAD/USD) Create letters requesting electronic funds transfers Review of all debits from all company bank accounts, including sign-offs of all statements by CAO (posted on Google Drive for CEO review) Review accrued Commission top-up entries Approve employee expense reports Month End: Review Commission accrual and cross sales journal entries Respond to several internal enquiries daily related to divisional financials, calculations, bank information, accounts payables/receivables, payroll information – i.e. all financial-related information to address issues/questions from Associates and administrative teams Securing all files into secured online storage system including daily uploading, categorizing file information for ease of future searching/accessing/downloading, etc. Other ad-hoc duties, research/analysis and special projects as required, including requirements for CRA, accounting firms, etc.

About You

Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills Software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks & Microsoft Dynamics Self-motivated and proactive CPA designation Ideally 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting, and 2 years supervisory experience
