Senior Manager, Regulatory Liaison Office, Compliance

Contributes to the overall success of the Regulatory Liaison Office, Enterprise Programs Compliance by providing support for Executive and Senior Management in managing significant regulatory exams and other dealings; overseeing and reviewing the implementation of significant actions required to address recommendations made by regulators; and providing timely and accurate reporting to Executive Management and the Board of Directors. Key Accountabilties:Assists the Director and SVP, Enterprise Programs in establishing a Regulatory Liaison Office as the central point of contact for the Bank’s regulators.Develops, communicates and executes, in conjunction with the CCRO, the SVP and Director, the overall strategy for regulatory preparedness for Scotiabank and oversees implementation of the strategy.Supports the CCRO, SVP, Enterprise Programs and Business Line Compliance SVPs in responding to requests and inquiries from regulators.Develops, executes and maintains consistent processes and systems to track and report to Executive Management, the Board of Directors on the status of implementations of significant regulatory changes and actions to address recommendations of regulators on both a granular and holistic basis, as appropriate.Review and critically evaluate the sufficiency of management action plans to address regulatory findings.Maintains awareness of the requirements to implement all significant regulatory changes and regulatory recommendations.Develops, communicates and/or coordinates responses to regulatory requests.Reviews recommendations from OSFI and other regulators to determine whether they might be applicable elsewhere in the Bank and, if so, coordinates action to implement the recommendation in the other areas.Supports the Director and SVP in other aspects of managing key or significant regulatory relationships, as required, including the annual OSFI College of Supervisors. Qualifications:7 to 10 years of progressive industry experience gained at a Bank or RegulatorKnowledge and/or experience of the banking industry and the lines of businessExperience in credit, market, liquidity or operational riskSpanish language skills desirable but not necessarily requiredUniversity degree (Bachelor and/or Masters) in business administration, commerce, economics; or other professional accreditationAn LL.B, MBA, or C.A. qualification desirable but not necessarily requiredStrong strategic, analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skillsA team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlinesBe creative, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated Location(s):  Canada : Ontario : TorontoAs Canada’s International Bank, we are a leader when it comes to inclusion.
