Strategy Advisor TP Consider this exciting opportunity with the Ministry of Labour’s Prevention Office, where you will lead the development, implementation and oversight of transfer payment programs for an assigned portfolio of occupational health and safety prevention initiatives. If you are interested in planning, leading and providing authoritative advice on research into developing Key Performance Indicators to determine program effectiveness this could be the role for you! What can I expect to do in this role? You will: • lead the research and implementation of all transfer payment/financial related aspects of the portfolio in support of the occupational health and safety (OH&S) strategy • design complex evaluative initiatives and studies to support transfer payment program recommendations on current and emerging issues affecting health and safety prevention • provide project leadership in the conceptualization, development and application of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and tracking tools for transfer payment measurement and control • develop and nurture critical partnerships and relationships and foster collaborate efforts among all partners and stakeholders Location: Toronto How do I qualify? Program and Transfer Payment Knowledge • you have experience with transfer payment related financial management controls and have worked with different funding models • you are able to acquire and apply knowledge of the Ministry of Labours related health and safety prevention issues, programs (Ministry and Prevention Office mandate) and legislation • you have the ability to identify funding trends and issues to plan, lead and coordinate research, strategy and policy development projects • you have knowledge of Ontario Public Service (OPS)/Ministry of Labour (MOL) strategic business, operational planning, financial management and decision making process Project Management and Leadership Skills • you have experience managing and providing technical leadership to projects • you have time management skills to manage competing demands • you have developed project plans and methodologies, managed resources, identified project parameters, and tracked milestones and outcomes • you have negotiation skills to lead consultations and influencing skills to effectively communicate and balance conflicting stakeholder interests to develop consensus for alternative solutions Research and Analytical Skills • you have knowledge of research methodologies and techniques, principles and practices, as well as qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques (e.g., multivariate qualitative and quantitative analyses, multiple regression) • you have experience using risk management, change management and problem-solving skills to identify issues and evaluate impacts of proposed changes Relationship Management Skills • you have strong relationship management skills to maintain partnerships with stakeholders • you have the ability to persuade, lead and participate in consultation with diverse groups of people to gain consensus on strategies and transfer payment program proposals and recommendations Communication Skills • you have oral communication skills to present, lead and participate in discussions, to provide clear advice and liaise with stakeholders • you have written communication skills to prepare correspondence, communications material, briefing and planning documentation, policy papers, reports, presentations and other documentation Salary: $69,496 – $102,408 per year Additional information: 1 Permanent, 10 Dundas St E, Toronto, Toronto Region Please apply online, only, by Friday, August 18, 2017, by visiting www.ontario.ca/careers and entering Job ID 110438 in the Job ID search field.
