Junior/Intermediate Civil Conveyance Engineer – Toronto, ON

Job DescriptionCH2M is searching for a Junior/Intermediate Civil Conveyance Engineer to join the CH2M team. From the conveyance and storage of treated and raw water to the collection of wastewater, reclaimed water and stormwater, CH2M provides a variety of urban conveyance and storage solutions for projects of all sizes, incorporating sustainability and adapting to changing environmental conditions in every project. As a Civil Conveyance Engineer you will be required to be competent in various aspects of water distribution, wastewater and stormwater collection and conveyance, design and operation. · Design experience on municipal conveyance systems including: water distribution system, trunk water mains, storm sewers, catch basins, local sanitary sewers, trunk sewers, and other buried piping storage or conveyance systems · Understanding of municipal design considerations and applicable standards, codes, regulations (including environmental requirements), materials of construction etc., · With supervision, evaluates, selects and applies standard and advanced engineering techniques and procedures. · Details are reviewed and checked as part of the firm’s QC program. Typical work assignments include projects in water distribution, wastewater and stormwater collection and conveyance. Project components include project planning, studies, preliminary design, final design, and services during construction. · Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. · Responsible for managing the projects to the specified timeline, budget and quality. · Willing to help mentor and develop junior engineers, and learn from more experienced office staff. The minimum qualifications for this position are: * BS or MS graduate of a relevant engineering discipline, such as Civil or Environmental. * Minimum 2 to 8 years’ experience. * Professional Engineer License (P.Eng. ON), or Engineering-In-Training * Pipe rehabilitation experience is an asset * Tunneling experience is an asset * Experience and relationships with local GTA clients is an asset * Excellent written and verbal communication of project plans and presentations * Excellent report and proposal writing skills. * Good interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills * Intuitive understanding and appreciation of group dynamics/team development At CH2M, the greatest challenges provide the biggest rewards.
