Java Developer (Full Stack)

What is the opportunity?You are a seasoned Java Developer with client facing applications expertise using Tomcat and experience working in a large financial institution. As a Java Developer within RBC Capital Markets Technology, You will drive the renovation and expansion of RBC’s Global Research business, collaborate effectively with multiple Business Partners, and leverage extensive application development knowledge to deliver creative data solutions for Analysts and Publishers within the Global Research and Investment banking Technology team.What will you do?Design and enhance existing micro-services written in Java, Spring Boot Framework, Micro Services, Unix, SQL Server, Liberty Profile, Tomcat, Eureka and Feign Client; Front End – Angular 2, Bootstrap 3.7.xEnsure data integrity within persistence layer (SQL Server 2012/2014) and perform database performance tuning within large scale finance domain applicationsConsume feeds from different vendors (MOD, Bloomberg, Reuters, Bluematrix) using console applications written in Java as well as build robust ETL tasks.Participate in backend development using Java, and writing complex stored procedures in SQL SeverParticipate in both custom Web application development and Mobile application development for iOS, Android and Blackberry using HTML5, CSS3 & jQueryBuild trusted relationships with a very involved Global Research teamCollaborate with the Operations IT team, Supervisory Analysts, Publishing, Production Support team, Strategy and Compliance on day to day development requests and supportWhat do you need to succeed?Must-Have:(Ideally 5+ years) Deep knowledge and experience developing client facing financial Web applications using Java, Spring Boot Framework, Micro Services, Unix, SQL Server, Liberty Profile, Tomcat, Eureka and Feign ClientFront end experience specifically utilizing Angular 2.Strong expertise writing and debugging complex SQL Server stored procedures.Extensive experience working in a dynamic technology team within a large financial organization, and Familiarity with Capital Markets (Financial Regulatory/Compliance requirements as well as Segregation of Duties restrictions)Excellent Communication & Documentation skillsNice to Have:Bootstrap 3.7.xWhat’s in it for you?
