Job Description

Our UX Designers empower scrum teams to understand User Experience and the RL UX Practice direction and strategy through implicit and explicit conversations and approaches to work within this Agile environment. The UX Practice is very collaborative and approaches our role with scrum teams as empowering champions of our methodology. We work fast and furious to meet the organization’s goals while looking towards the future and how we will evolve.

The candidate must have experience working in an Agile environment or juggling multiple projects, deadlines, teams and/or clients at once with 3-7 years experience. Axure experience a plus. Multiple UX Skills are required: Articulating heuristics, IxD, VisD, UXA, and the ability to work collaboratively to foster consensus and address multi-discipline skills. The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of negotiating a design and that perfect designs do not exist and that success of a design is measured in different ways. Experience in the education space a plus!

Required Experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Owner to understand the product changes/additions and work with UX Analyst to identify the holistic user task(s) and personas to understand the established direction and its relationship to the business goals.
  • Help Guide the creation and maintenance of User Stories, AC, and DOD with POs and SMs.
  • Work collaboratively with the UX Analyst to define design acceptance criteria for the detailed design.
  • Review implementations of the detailed design to ensure its integrity is maintained.
  • Produce interactive prototypes to provide quick documentation, support for guerilla validation and demonstration of how the experience will support the defined MVP.
  • Identify needed user assistance and empower tech writers to understand the IxD to be supported
  • Provide UX Leadership within the scrum team to bring the conceptual design to fruition and ensure its alignment to the Product Vision and Design System/Style Guide including UXA, IxD, and VisD.
  • Present the detailed design – Articulating the alignment to the Vision -Business goals and User Needs/task models/scenarios of use and Design System/Style Guide.
  • Facilitate collaboration within the scrum team to evolve the detailed design within the timeline and considerations to drive consensus and finalized detailed design
  • Ensure the design meets business goals and user needs by aligning to the Vision and Design System
  • Collaborate with PO, Dev, Analyst, and other UX Designers to ensure an accurate, consistent documentation of questions, decisions, and action items
  • Maintain the integrity of the design system/style guide by using design patterns accurately, identify and collaborate with the UX Designers to evolve design patterns when the cognitive experience is not adequately supported by the current design patterns.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Science or Arts
  • Agile/Scrum development experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing web sites or web-based software
  • Strong, analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent understanding of user-centered design principals and tools
  • Excellent communication, writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills
