Manager, Analytics and Insights

Position Overview:

Canada Goose (CG) is looking for a talented individual to own the global Analytics and Insights function within the eCommerce department. The Manager of Analytics & Insights will support the Global e-Commerce business and its partners and their goal of driving the performance of canadagoose.com and unifying data across Ecommerce, Stores, and Wholesale to create true Omni-channel insights. Canadagoose.com is currently operating in North America and Europe with 7 additional European countries being added by the fall, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated and passionate professionals across two continents and growing.

Key Responsibilities:

Own the yearly analytics and insights road map

  • Build a multi-year analytics road map
  • Ensure that the analytics road map supports the goals and needs of our key stakeholders (e-Commerce, Marketing, Strategy, Planning)
  • Ensure that the roadmap reflects the Omni-channel nature of our business
  • Own and drive the priority of your roadmap

Own the measurement framework

  • Review and refine (if necessary) current KPIs and micro conversion metrics
  • Review and maintain current measurement framework for new sites
  • Revise the global framework as required to ensure scalability and data consistency

Own our current measurement and analytics platforms

  • You will be the product owner for Analytics which currently includes the following platforms: Google Analytics Premium (GAP), Google BigQuery, Google DataStudio, Geckoboard, BazaarVoice, Fit Analytics, Confirmit (Voice of Customer)
  • You will setup, configure and maintain these platforms
  • You will be responsible for the accuracy of the data collected in GAP
  • You will be responsible for merging multiple datasets (Order Management System data, Demandware/Salesforce Commerce data, BazaarVoice data etc…)
  • Recommend new tools to help analyze, visualize and understand our data

Own the current tracking/tagging methodology

  • Review current tagging methodology and improve it (if necessary)
  • Own our Tag Management platform: Google Tag Manger
  • Maintain and continuously improve our Data Layer
  • Ensure that the current tagging is scalable and consistent across websites
  • Ensure that all our new websites are tagged properly
  • Work with the e-Commerce Product Manager to facilitate the tagging and deployment of our marketing and tracking tags (build a process)

Own the analytics and reporting function

  • You will be responsible for measuring the performance of our global websites (currently North America and Europe)
  • You will monitor closely every site launch (at least for the first 90 days), you will also report the performance of these new sites on a weekly basis. You will highlight underperforming metrics
  • You will provide a Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer review of our Omni-channel activities (e-Commerce, retail and wholesale)
  • You and your team will analyze the performance of our websites and find opportunities to improve our KPIs through funnel analyses, product performance analyses, operational metrics analyses

Share industry trends and benchmark

  • You will gather industry insights using Digital Commerce 360 (Internet retailer), eMarketer, Comscore, Nielsen, Ecommerce Foundation and other insights and research portals
  • You will summarize and share these insights on a quarterly basis

Manage your team

  • You will build and lead your team
  • You will be responsible for the professional development of each team member

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in digital analytics, experience with Google Analytics (preferred) and Adobe Analytics
  • 4 years of experience implementing tracking tags; familiar with the concept of Data Layer
  • 2 years of experience managing a team
  • 2 years of experience using Google Tag Manager (GTM) or Adobe Dynamic Tag Management (DTM)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using SQL
  • Experience with Google Big Query
  • Basic knowledge of CSS, HTML, DOM and JavaScript
  • Extensive experience in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Google Sheets (automation of Google Analytics data in Google Sheets)
  • Experience with Google Data Studio, Tableau & Power BI
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing (SEM, Display, SEO, social analytics)
  • Beginner to intermediary level in statistics (T-Test, Z-test, Chi-square test, ANOVA, Linear regression, Logistic regression)
  • Demandware (Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
  • Experience in e-Commerce; considered an asset

  • Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and derive actionable insights
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take an unbiased view when presenting results of analysis
