HR DIRECTOR POSITION

Working under the direction of the CEO & CFO, the HR Director is a strategic business partner accountable for the portfolio of Human Resources, and Recruiting. The HR Director is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative policies, practices and programs resulting in effective processes and engaged staff.

The HR Director is responsible for providing leadership in all areas of employee services, including payroll, compensation & benefits, recruitment & retention, and human resources planning. The HR Director works closely with the Vice President & Vice President Marketing & Sales to develop and implement portfolio plans to meet Artsmarketing Services strategic objectives, and coordinates the human, financial and other resources within the allocated portfolio in order to maximize the delivery of services.

Key Accountabilities of this position include:

  • Oversees Artsmarketing Services Human Resources function ensuring that all people related processes and policies meet legislative requirements and are in alignment with the strategic direction and the culture of the organization
  • Mentors, coaches and advises staff, promoting a collaborative approach to problem solving 
  • Counsels and advises leadership staff in all areas of people management including: staff engagement, labour relations; performance management; conflict resolution; harassment investigation; and enhancing employee relations; discipline and termination of staff
  • Develops, implements, and monitors all Performance Management processes including: Progressive Discipline; Performance Improvement Plan; Performance Reviews; and Job Evaluation process; etc.
  • Oversees and facilitates Health and Safety requirements Oversees the development of the Human Resources, Health and Safety policies
  • Oversees the recruitment, selection and on-boarding processes to ensure Artsmarketing is an employer of choice.
  • Recommends processes to encourage staff retention
  • Oversees the full scope of Payroll, Benefits Administration,
