As a member of our Premium Accounting & Underwriting team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work directly with the Senior Benefits Consultant to develop and implement business strategies to demonstrate OTIP’s expertise, ongoing competitiveness and client value.
  • Provide ongoing education, support and guidance to clients, OTIP Leadership, Provincial Leadership and Governance Groups where required.
  • Support Senior Benefits Consultant and Consulting and Insights Representatives to present quarterly plan activity, financial reporting, renewal presentations to allow Representatives and Governance Groups to fulfill their assigned obligations;
  • Manage the collection of information from each GIS area to identify meaningful feedback, trends and insights that provide strategic guidance to clients with respect to the benefits being provided to their members.
  • Participate in high level escalations brought forward from the Group Benefits Service Coordinators and support evaluations conducted by the Group Benefit Specialists.
  • Works closely with insurance carriers and actuarial resources to maintain pricing adequacy and accuracy and competitiveness of all products (current, renewed and new business).
  • Support business strategies by communicating and facilitating the production of requirements to the Group Benefits Specialists and Group Benefits Analysts.

If this opportunity sounds interesting, and you meet the following requirements, you might be the person we’re looking for. We need someone who has:

  • A university degree or college equivalent and a C.E.B.S. designation or other industry equivalent.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in group insurance underwriting or working with the financial aspects and provisions of group insurance.
  • A high level of knowledge of insurance contracts and benefit provisions, underwriting agreements, underwriting and administration practices, premium accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • High degree of understanding of large case Long Term Disability would be considered an asset.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
